soulentercourse-deactivated2012 asked: I desperately need help. My edges won't grow for ANYTHING :( I hate wearing braids sometimes because it looks kind of awkward with my hair thinning on the sides. Do you have any advice??

yep!

#1 - NO MORE BRAIDS.  if your hairline is thinning and weakening, the last thing you want to do is pull the hair there.. it will only cause further breakage and thinning.  try very hard not to pull or manipulate the hair there while you’re trying to encourage growth!

#2 - avoid the tight puff/bun.  remember, you don’t want to pull the hair tight or taut.  you’ll also want to watch it with the scarves, headbands, and headwraps, too.. they can encourage breakage and thinning as well.  you basically want to leave your edges alone as best you can.

#3 - castor oil!  castor oil is supposed to work WONDERS for growing hair.  ive even heard that it works on eyelashes and eyebrows.  keep your edges clean and moisturized with castor oil as best you can.

#4 - sleep on satin!  rough fabrics and materials, like cotton and wool, can break hair off and zap moisture.  when you sleep, make sure you wrap your hair with a satin scarf, put on a satin bonnet, or sleep on a satin pillow case.  or all three.  lol.  can’t hurt i guess.

good luck!!
